The Writer's Craft

This university level elective course emphasizes knowledge and skills related to the craft of writing. You will analyse models of effective writing; use a workshop approach to produce a range of works; identify and use techniques required for specialized forms of writing; and identify effective ways to improve the quality of your writing. You will also complete a range of creative and analytical writing projects, and investigate opportunities for publication and for writing careers.

This course will give you the time and creative opportunity to develop your own writer's portfolio. You will be able to write about topics that interest you using mediums of your choosing. Examples of mediums explored in this course include journaling, memoirs, novellas, graphic novels, musicals, song lyrics, children's literature, film and television scripts, podcasting and more!
