MyPD - Because educators deserve credit for their informal learning efforts

What if you could take all the time that you spend informally researching educational strategies (e.g., reading blogs and articles, watching YouTube videos or participating in Twitter chats) and formally honor this time commitment with SCECHs?  Now you can! MyPD is a vehicle to formally honor educators’ informal learning efforts.  In this course, you will define your problems of practice, create a plan to address them and receive valuable feedback from professional learning coaches.

Note: Any of the above courses that are NOT already giving SCECH would be excellent candidates for this program!

Did you know that TCAPS has a district-wide subscription to TeachingBooks?  TeachingBooks is a dynamic, PreK–12 reading and library service that strives to deepen everyone's connections to the books they are reading.  With 170,000+ engaging video, audio, and online resources, TeachingBooks brings to life the books that are enjoyed in our community.  We recommend spending some time exploring all this site has to offer.  The webinars below are a great introduction.

Focus: ISTE Standards

Today’s students must be prepared to thrive in a constantly evolving technological landscape. The ISTE Standards for students are designed to empower student voice and ensure that learning is a student-driven process.  The videos below highlight ways to infuse the ISTE Standards in your classroom.

This would be a great topic to study in depth this summer and would be ideal for a MyPD project.
