The Chicago Alumni Chapter collaborated with IL Beta (IIT) to host a movie event for Math Circles of Chicago where the movie "Hunting Yellow Pigs" was played for students in the Chicagoland area who attended.  Four alumni and 2 student chapter members attended.

The Chicago Alumni Chapter had a fun social event participating in restaurant week in Naperville at The George restaurant.  We had food, fun and friendship shared among 6 alumni and 1 TBP student chapter officer.

The Chicago Alumni Chapter's Wes Wojdyla participated as one of the judges of the 2026 Everest Academy Science Fair in Lemont, IL ( https://lnkd.in/gCMp2YvE ) 

The Chicago Alumni Chapter had an amazing day at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago!

We explored dazzling holiday trees from around the globe and dove into incredible exhibits showcasing the wonders of science and technology. A perfect mix of learning and fun for the students, alumni and friends/family who attended! 

Our annual general member meeting was held with updates from the national convention, our annual goals, getting ideas for activities and electing our leadership team. Votes are in progress for our leadership team. Check back for an update on the results!

🎓✨ Shared our Wisdom with Future Engineers!

We had 3 Tau Beta Pi alumni to join an Alumni Panel at Illinois Institute of Technology on October 23 to share the story of their career journey, lessons learned, and advice for life after graduation.   Over 20 students attended to learn from their experiences!

Our representative attended the National Convention to participate in the business of Tau Beta Pi. Look for an update on the outcomes of this amazing event at our General Member meeting in November 2025.

Amazing event!  12 alumni members and 25 students across 4 local student chapters (IL Alpha - UIUC, IL Beta - Illinois Tech, IL Gamma - Northwestern and IL Zeta - UIC) participated in a competitive but collaborative alumni/student trivia event hosted by IL Zeta.   The winning team was Electrifying and they tool home the prized trivia trophies!

Our special guests from IL Alpha drove 2.5 hours to play trivia with us, wrote the trivia questions and acted as the trivia master.  We couldn't have done it without you!  Thanks for your amazing support!

5 alumni members and 2 relatives gave back to our community for a Habitat for Humanity build in Chicagoland!  The new homeowner was painting right along side us which was really cool!

We welcomed our new members in the Chicagoland area as they met the officers and each other at a social event on July 20.

Congratulations to 130+ new members of the IL Alpha (UIUC) TBP Chapter initiated yesterday (largest in over 40 years). The activities and overall hours this group puts back into the community and campus are amazing to see! 

It was also great to have 3 different alumni chapters in attendance (Central Illinois Chapter, St Louis Chapter and Chicago Chapter) to support these new members as they joined our amazing organization. 

Our chapter hosted a virtual event showcasing the value of various engineering organizations and why you should participate in them.

Congratulations to the new Tau Beta Pi initiates that became members of the Indiana Gamma Chapter at the University of Notre Dame, IN. Two professors / advisors and 2 members of the Chicago Alumni Chapter were present for this ceremony.

Our chapter hosted an alumni panel and had specific alumni best practices sharing at the District 8 conference where we shared why we stayed involved with Tau Beta Pi through an alumni chapter (and other topics).

Our chapter attended initiation of the new members of Illinois Beta Chapter at Illinois Tech and one member of Ohio Eta Chapter at Air Force Institute of Technology.

We gathered at a pizza place in downtown Chicago for a fun social outing!

We supported our IL Beta (Illinois Tech/IIT) student chapter with a professional FE/PE licensure panel.  The 7 alumni provided input to students on the pros and cons of obtaining a professional engineering license with great participation and questions asked throughout. 

Our chapter organized a group rate visit to MSI Chicago to learn and have fun together.

Our chapter attended and congratulated to the 12 new TBP members of the IL Beta (IIT) chapter!  6 alumni members were in attendance!

Our chapter attended the fall initiation ceremony of the IN Gamma Chapter at Notre Dame. 

Our chapter received the most improved chapter award (of the 52 active alumni chapters) at the national convention!

We had dinner together to get to know each other better!
