Introduction

My inquiry is about 2 of my ancestors that came to New Zealand from Australia in the 60s, and the 90s my inquiry will show what they did in their life and why they came here.

In 1910 my ancestor was born his name was Edwin Hicks son of Elsie May Kitching and William Banks Hicks. He was born in Elsternwick, Melbourne. He was Educated at Haileybury College and Melbourne Church of England Grammar School. In 1927 he moved in with his mum and dad in canberra not too long after that he became temporary officer with the Federal Capital Commission. In 1968 He left Australia then went to New zealand for 3 years to be high commissioner of new zealand then he left in 1971. My grandmother was born on 8 february 1946. The first time my Grandmother, Jill Marshall was in New zealand was when Edwin Hicks was high commissioner to NZ for Australia. Then my grandmother moved to germany from New Zealand because her husband David Marshall got a job there. Then in 2002 She moved back to Australia in Sydney then in 2013 they made the final move back to New Zealand and have since stayed there.

Jill Annette Marshall, my grandmother was born in Melbourne, Victoria. She came to New Zealand in 1970. She was the daughter of my great grandfather. My grandmother came back to New Zealand in the 1970s. She stayed there for a long time. She had my dad and his siblings in New Zealand but then after that they came back to Australia in 1995 then in 2013 they came back to new zealand.

My grandmother moved from Australia to New Zealand in 1968 she stayed there for 27 years. In that time she got married in 1972 then they moved to Christchurch in 1972 thye had my dad in 1973. My Grandmother then went to Auckland were my Grandmother had a job as a school teacher in a lot of schools she was a reliever
