The Wright Flyer, (Worlds first controlled flight)
I have chosen the Wright Brothers because I have a love for aircraft and aircraft history. They demonstrated perseverance by designing and building their own plane prototypes from the 1900s and kept failing for years before they eventually succeeded in 1905 and made the world's first controlled plane.
As they persevered towards their goal of controlled flight, they were able to accomplish one of the first "lighter than air" uncontrolled aircraft, and of course, the world's first "lighter than air" controlled aircraft. Even though they were only in the air for 12 seconds on their first flight, it was still a remarkable breakthrough.
