Hauora,
How did your ‘confidence’ help you when learning/performing the TBC Haka? (Explain and give examples)
My confidence helped me while learning the haka by allowing me to shout the words without feeling embarrassed to do it, e.g. I was quiet at the start but as time went by and we kept practising I got louder each time and more confident.
How does ‘confidence’ help you in another area of your life? E.g sport, music, school work, your job...etc (Explain and give examples)
Confidence helps me express myself at school while socialising and hanging out with friends and others. Confidence also helps me at ATC with me being confident enough to interact and make friends with the others there and talk to the new recruits.
How does ‘confidence’ affect each dimension of your Hauora?
Taha Wairua (Spiritual)
Having confidence while performing the TBC Haka made me look like I knew what I was doing and made me look fierce. It made me look good and I learned it quicker than I thought I would have and I am more confident doing new things.
Taha Tinana (Physical)
My confidence helped me perform the haka by making it so that I can ignore those around me allowing me to look confident, do my best and shout the loudest words. E.g. I was nervous and a little bit scared at the start but my confidence helped me ignore that so I could do my best, and I did.
Taha Whanau (Social)
Confidence helped me socially by boosting my self-esteem and with that up I am way more confident speaking with new people, making new friends, and not worrying about what they will think of me, and I am even more confident speaking in front of my class.
Taha Hinengaro (Mental & Emotional)
Confidence helped me mentally by allowing me to express myself without worrying about others making fun of me or being harsh and if others do make harsh or hurtful comments I don't take it personally because I have confidence that I did good and that I did not look stupid -for example-. It is also helping me at home because even there I am expressing myself more.
