Hi our names are Kyla and Becca and we wanted to interview people because we are proud of our school. We want it to be the best and we got fedback on how it could be even better. We want to share this information with the student council.
We interviewed a Year 8 girl and asked these questions.
What is your name?
What class are you in?
What year are you?
Do you like TIS?
What do you think is good about TIS? Why?
What do you thieeds to be improved? Why?
Do you think we need more …?
Do you like the uniform?
What would you improve?
Anything else?
Do you like the teachers?

Overall we think people want improvement in the uniform.

As most people are aware, girls' self-defense happened on the 6th of May. On this Monday, year 8 girls from classes 7, 8, and 9 had spent the whole day learning self-defense. But this left many people (mostly boys, teachers, and parents) confused and with a question, the question being, why is there no boys' self-defense?
As of 2022, there were 4 billion men(3.95B women) in the world. By 2010 there were 57,542 male predators (the self-defense was mainly about sexual assault and the more physical side not things like mental abuse). And the statistic is that 90% of abusers are men. This is true. It’s not 98%, not 100%, not 2%, it’s 90%. This means that since most of the assaults are on girls, girls get self-defense. Yet there is a problem, this leaves out that there are still many male victims!
From the article, we got our male predator numbers from there were approximately 24,230 female predators, which makes sense due to there being fewer women than men. Many male victims may find it hard to tell people about their experiences due to the slight stigma that most assault comes from men. And some people may mix around the statistic and say 90% of men are abusers (obviously not true!). Long story short, men deserve self-defencse too! There are many girls who could beat up a boy and vice versa. Both parties should learn(And also maybe have more than 1 teacher).
Ps: This Monday(13th\may\2024) the second and final girls' self-defense class took place for rooms 7, 8, and 9. Now we are going to be paying more attention to the actual learning.
1: They told girls that you should poke the aggressor in the eyes, but also to pull their eyes to the side. They also told you to grab the corners of their dick and pull hard, this may be extremely painful and even if you do it right, it doesn’t really help get you away, infact it might back you closer, so it’s not really that good of an idea. Instead here's what you should do; If you are being grabbed, you should poke them in the eyes, and run. Don’t stick around and pull their eyes to make a funny face. That’s why doing the weird mouth thing is dumb too, because even if you do do it right, you will still be standing right infront of them, they will grab you, and all you’ve done is aggravated them. You don’t want to kill the aggressor, you want to run.
2: Now we want to talk about the actual ways they talk about the aggressors/predators. The lesson script was always using male pronouns when referring to the aggressors. “If he grabs you”, “What’s his plan”, “Kick him” etc. This is interesting because not only did the lesson script say that ‘98% of abusers are men’, it’s 90%, it also never says “And if the attacker is male: Kick him in the balls (along with everything else)” but she would just say “Kick him in the balls (along with everything else)”. Just keep in mind that there are many female predators, not every man sucks, not every woman is amazing, vise versa.
Additionally, male predators can go for boys and do often, and female predators can go for girls. Gender is not the issue here, everybody needs self-defence, it isn’t boys against girls or girls against boys. Stay safe!
