video game consoles have been a HIT against kids and adults for a long time. but have you ever wonderd... did my parents have video games as a kid... well im glad you asked. yes. yes they did. sega. nintendo. and playstation. now lets explain a console that was famous in 1988. the sega mega drive. the sega mega drive was a 16-BIT video gaming system. also known as the sega genesis in north america. it was the greatest console ever made at the time of its release. with its amazing sound quality and high definition graphics nobody was stopping sega. when nintendo launched the SNES they had an intense compition with segas mega drive. in north america and japan the mega drive was an NTSC system. running at the speed the games were made for. in eroup regions it was a PAL system. running slowler than the game was made for. NTSC and PAL have a big diffrence. NTSC runs at 60Hz and PAL runs at 50Hz which is slower. later sega would make the blue blur himself. sonic the hedgehog. the game BLEW UP and was a popular hit amongst kids of the 90s. sega would not stop there though. sega released a sega mega drive 2. smaller and lighter than the 1st. though the sega mega drive 1 had better sound quality and graphics. sega released more consoles. they wouldnt lose the console wars. they released another console. the sega saturn. The Sega Saturn was a home video game console developed by Sega and released on November 22, 1994, in Japan, May 11, 1995, in North America, and July 8, 1995, in Europe. Part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, it is the successor to the successful Genesis. then sega would release another console called the sega dreamcast. The Dreamcast was the final home video game console manufactured by Sega. It was released on November 27, 1998, in Japan; September 9, 1999, in North America; and October 14, 1999, in Europe. It was the first sixth-generation video game console, preceding Sony's PlayStation 2, Nintendo's GameCube, and Microsoft's Xbox. it made sega lose $169 million dollars. it ended up being a massive and over all collosal failure and sega decided to leave the console market for good. they still make games today though. and they are released on consoles like the playstation, xbox, and nintendo switch.
