KS4 Options
This is a really exciting time for you as you prepare to make choices which will shape the rest of education. The KS4 curriculum offer has been developed by considering your views, aspirations and interests. We have created a curriculum which gives you the best chances of achievement and progression on to further education or training.
The information provided within this website provides guidance aimed to help you make informed decisions when choosing your option choices.
It is important that you consider many factors when making your options choices such as:
Do you know what you want to do as a job in the future? If so, do your choices support this?
Do you want to continue studying in Sixth Form or another further education college after Year 11?
Are you interested in starting an apprenticeship when you finish Year 11? If so, do your choices support this?
Do you want to apply to university after Sixth Form or College? If so, do your choices support this?
What are your strengths?
What are you interests?
It is also very important that you discuss your option choices and plans with your parent(s) or carer(s). Perhaps you have an older sibling or cousin that can offer you some guidance, or a relative has a career you are interested in. Maybe ask them what options they studied at school and which path they chose to get to where they are today. Your Head of Year, teachers and tutor are always happy to give you some help and guidance.
You will also receive an invitation to meet with a key member of staff to discuss your options and ensure that you have made the right choices for you. You will be given a time and date for your interview over the next few weeks.
Option choices are detailed in your options booklet and on this website, however your parent(s) or carer(s) will submit your choices with you via an online form, Edval, there is no need to print these pages, they are just there to illustrate the option process and to assist you with your selections.
