I wake to the sound and smell of bacon frying in the air. As I lumber into the kitchen, Dad greets me with a cheery "good morning!" and I give him a tired smile back. Once my stomach is full with greasy fried eggs and bacon, I drag my feet back to my room and get ready to take the dogs up to the lake for a swim. The crisp morning air slaps me in the face as I step outside and it fully wakes me up.

Title Making Cream into Butter
Hypothesis:
Old Cream when beaten, will become butter more quickly than fresh cream.
Material: Utensils
Fresh cream 2 Bowls
7 day old cream. Electric beater
Timer
Method:
1 Pour the fresh cream into a bowl.
2 Start beating the cream.
3 Start the timer at the same time as you start beating the cream.
4 When the cream turns into butter stop beating and turn off the timer.
5 Record the time it took the fresh cream to turn into butter.
6 Repeat the experiment again in a new bowl with the 7 day old cream.
7 Remember to record the time.
Results:
The fresh cream took 4 minutes to turn into butter..
The 7 day old cream took 2 minutes to turn butter.
Discussion:
The results showed that 7 day old cream did turn to butter more quickly that fresh cream. It was found that it was important to clean the beater between the two bowls of cream otherwise it could change the results. The 7 day old cream was beaten in two bowls, one with a clean beater and the other going straight from one bowl to the other. The use of the clean beater gave a more accurate result without the cream being contaminated.
Conclusion:
When beaten old cream will become butter more quickly than fresh cream.

Rain
Rain, rain, and more rain. Night after night I am awoken to the sound of torrential rain pounding on the old tin roof. It cries, “wake up, wake up,” as it slides quickly down the ancient roof into the Flooded gutters. It gushes over the side of the rusty guttering like a floating river. On and on it travels, until at last all you hear is the trickle of water, it scampers down the spouting and into the clay drains. At last it finishes.
Until, day after day the sun smiling sky forms dark angry clouds to the west. They float across the blue sky becoming angrier and darker. A gust of blustering wind announces the darken clouds arrival. This begins as large droplets of warm rain. It scatters across the sodden ground like a lolly scramble. Slowly and then quickly, the soaking rain pounds the drenched earth with more intensity with each drop of rain water.
One becomes saturated within minutes, soaked to the skin looking like a drowned rat. Within minutes, the happy sun peeks through the grumpy clouds that continue on their journey across the spring sky. Will this rain ever stop? Is this a sign of climate change?
Learning Intention:
