The following school supplies are recommended for all students in Grades 5-8. Additional items (such as binders or notebooks) may be required by individual teachers at various times during the year. The items below reflect the general needs of students, and we ask that you ensure items are clearly marked with their name. 

• Reusable spill-proof water bottle, labeled clearly with name. Drinking fountains have been replaced with bottle refill stations.

• Pencil case

• Supply of pencils, HB

• Small pencil sharpener

• Eraser

• Supply of black/blue and red pens

• Highlighter(s)

• A colored pencil set of 12+ colors

• One “sharpie” or another small/fine permanent marker

• Ruler, 30cm

• Protractor, small

• Supply of loose-leaf lined paper and squared paper for use at home

• Portable headphones with a microphone

• Small scissors with round tip

• Glue stick

• Calculator: All students need at least a basic multi-function calculator. Eighth grade students and students in Pre-Algebra or above should have a scientific calculator. (Although it is not compulsory in Grade 8, the recommended scientific graphing calculator for Upper School students is the TI-84, so you may wish to consider this type if purchasing a scientific calculator.) Please ensure that it is labeled with your child’s name.

• Compass (Pre-Algebra and Geometry students only)

• Spare PE sneakers to be left at school in a string bag

• White Out/Tip-Ex (optional)

We also recommend that a student have access to printing facilities at home should the need arise.
