Capybaras are docile and usually allow humans to pet and hand-feed them, but physical contact is normally discouraged. Capybaras love to play with humans like they do with other capybara.
Even though capybaras are very friendly they are not domesticated.
Humans impact capybaras by cutting down forests and converting wetlands to make way for crop fields and cattle ranches. Also, hunting has a big impact.
