Start creating initial sketches for the interior of your store:
•On A3 paper, firstly draw a 1cm border and a text box.
•The start sketching initial ideas, remember you need a floor plan and 3D view.
The more QUICK initial designs you do, the better, as it helps clear up the direction of your formal designs.
It is important to note that this is when you show the necessary details for what your building will look like - a good way to go about this is to insert pictures of what you have done a sketch of. For example doing a sketch of the shelves you want and then putting an arrow to a picture of the actual shelves you have included somewhere on the page.
Annotate each of your designs:
•Why did you choose this design for your store? Explain.
•Does this design meet your target audience and your design brief? Explain how.
•What Design Elements (point, line, colour, texture, tone, form, shape and type) can you see in this image? Describe how they are being used and to what effect.
•What Design Principles (hierarchy, figure-ground, cropping, pattern, balance, contrast, proportion and scale) can you see in this image? Describe how they are being used and to what effect.
In 30 words or less describe your best initial sketch.
What made it the best sketch?
