After School Care (Monday-Thursday)

After School Care Registration | K - 5th from 3:00–5:30 PM | Begins September 8th!

New this Fall! After School Care provides families with a convenient option for the time between the end of the school day and pickup, allowing parents to finish their workday without having to manage a 3:00 PM pickup. 

After School Club provides a structured and supervised environment for Kinder - 5th grade students from 3:00 PM–5:30 PM Monday through Thursday during the Fall. Parent pickup is firmly between 5 PM and 5:30 PM.

Instructed and designed by Brittany Kimmel who brings more than a decade of experience working with kids in outdoor and educational settings, with a background in STEM, outdoor leadership, coaching, and creating engaging after school activities.

Afternoons include a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, snack time, free play, structured games, reading, and other age-appropriate activities. Students will also have designated time for homework as part of the afternoon routine.

To begin, space is limited to 14 students.

Pricing Details - After School Care is offered at $25 per day, based on a rate of $10 per hour. Care is available four days per week, Monday - Thursday. The schedule is adjusted to account for holidays, school breaks, and other days when school is not in session.

For the 2026–27 school year, After School Care is reserved and billed at $800 per quarter ($400 per month).

Meet After School Supervisor - Brittany Kimmel who moved to Tahoe in 2020 after graduating from University Nevada, Reno. She has been working with kids in an outdoor context for over a decade. She studied Environmental Science, Secondary Education, and Mathematics in school. 

Brittany loves creating fun activities and lessons to engage people in topics they were not previously interested in. She has been a backpack guide in Canada, coaches ski team at Palisades, and was the STEM coordinator for another afterschool program. 

This Summer and last, Brittany ran Tahoe Summer Camps’ Physical Science and Robotics Camps and guided some Rock Climbing trips. Brittany enjoys reading, climbing, backpacking, and line dancing in her free time.
