"Local to Global: A Sustainable Creative Journey from Monga to Dongdaemun" integrates international education, bilingual learning, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
Students explore the fashion cultures and clothing industries of Monga and Dali Garment Shopping Areas in Taipei and Dongdaemun Fashion Market in Korea. Through inquiry-based learning, field visits to Tailor’s Space, and upcycling projects, students learn about local culture, sustainable fashion, and resource reuse.
Students transform old clothes into practical handmade pouches and create short English videos to introduce their designs, cultural connections, and eco-friendly ideas. The videos are shared with Korean students through Padlet for asynchronous exchange.
Through comments, emoji feedback, and cultural sharing, students develop cross-cultural understanding, English communication skills, and global citizenship while connecting local experiences with global perspectives.
