Distinctive Curriculum Features
With the vision of "guiding every child to succeed in learning," Shuangyuan Elementary School has developed the “Iron Kid”, centered on the core value of Grit. Our curriculum nurtures students through a balanced combination of academic excellence and physical vitality.
The curriculum follows a six-theme spiral progression. In the lower grades, students focus on "Welcoming and Embracing the World," while the middle and upper grades advance to "Enjoying, Experiencing, and Encountering the World."

The Peak Experience program is the soul of Shuangyuan Elementary School’s school-based curriculum. It transforms the abstract concept of Grit into tangible, measurable learning achievements. The following illustrates how we guide students toward successful learning through concrete outcomes.

Guided by our core vision of "helping every child succeed in learning," we have developed a well-rounded curriculum that balances academic excellence with physical vitality. We do more than merely impart knowledge; through our six major curriculum strands, we design personalized Peak Experiences for each child.

強健體魄的「鐵人精神實踐家」：畢業生需通過「雙園小鐵人」考驗，112學年度已有超過百位學生榮獲金牌，展現不畏挑戰的韌性。
厚植學力的「語文學習奠基者」：透過「語文魔數師」課程，學生在繪本情境中完成數學邏輯建構，畢業生達成率達100%。
1. The Pinnacle of Interdisciplinary Practice: Demonstrating Well-Rounded Competencies
At Shuangyuan Elementary School, students build both robust physical fitness and deep academic foundations through our peak experience challenges.
" Iron Kid " for Robust Physical Fitness:
To graduate, students must pass the " Iron Kid " challenge. In the 2023 academic year, over 100 students earned gold medals, demonstrating their resilience and unwavering determination in the face of challenges.
"Academic Foundation Builders" through Language and Math:
Through our signature " Logician " course, students construct mathematical logic and problem-solving skills within picture-book contexts. We are proud to see a 100% completion rate among our graduates, ensuring their academic success.

數位領航的「運算思維創思者」：在「資訊探險家」課程引導下，近三年已有超過300人次通過「國際運算思維挑戰賽」，具備解決複雜問題的能力。
閱讀探究的「線上專題探究者」：畢業生完成「柯華葳線上專題探究」的比率高達95.2%，使學校連年榮登線上探究榮譽榜。

Through our " Globetrotter " program, students engage in authentic international exchanges, including a five-year pen-pal partnership with peers in Israel, Japan, and New Zealand. 3. 校訂課程【彈性學習課程】：包含「樂學小達人（閱讀/食農）」、「樂動小鐵人」、「語文魔數師」、「國際樂學家」及「資訊探險家」
(1) 「樂學小達人」是雙園國小扎根生活與探究的核心課程，區分為「健康食農」與「閱讀探究」兩大範疇。在食農方面，強調「從校田到餐桌」的實作，讓學生在耕作中體會辛勞與珍惜，畢業生健康飲食實作達成率達 100%。
在閱讀方面，引導學生運用數位工具進行線上專題探究，培養分析與解決問題的跨域素養，使本校連年榮獲柯華葳線上探究學校榮譽榜，畢業生完成探究率高達 95.2%。本課程透過實際參與及自主學習，成功塑造學生為具備關懷土地與自主學習力的「樂學小達人」。

Our program includes: " SY Expert (Reading / Food and Agriculture)", " Iron Kid ", " Logician ", " Globetrotter ", and " Navigator ".
(1) SY Expert : Rooted in Daily Life and Inquiry
The " SY Expert " program is a core component of Shuangyuan Elementary School’s curriculum, divided into two major areas: Healthy Food and Agriculture, and Reading Inquiry.
Healthy Food and Agriculture: Emphasizing hands-on "From School Garden to Table" activities, this component allows students to experience the hard work of farming and learn to cherish their food. We proudly achieve a 100% completion rate among our graduates in healthy eating practices.
Reading Inquiry: Students are guided to use digital tools for online project-based research, cultivating cross-disciplinary analysis and problem-solving skills. This dedication has earned our school a consistent spot on the Ko Hua-wei Online Inquiry Honor Roll year after year, with an impressive project completion rate of 95.2% among graduates.
Through active participation and self-directed learning, this curriculum successfully nurtures students into true Joyful Learning Masters who care deeply for the land and possess strong independent learning abilities.
(2)「樂動小鐵人」是雙園國小最具指標性的特色課程，以「恆毅力」為核心，透過水陸雙軌訓練打造學生的強健體魄 。課程採螺旋式遞進，五年級奠定捷式與跑步基礎，六年級則進階至仰、蛙式與長距離挑戰 。本課程強調跨域整合，引導學生運用數學公式計算運動速度，並落實 PRICE 傷害防護與水域自救知能 。畢業生須通過游泳 300 公尺與長跑 1500 公尺的考驗，成為「鐵人精神實踐家」 。這不僅是體能的超越，更跨域藝術領域美學創客，透過公益義賣等行動，將堅毅意志轉化為溫柔在地關懷，培養出文武兼備且具備社會責任感的小鐵人。
(2) Iron Kid : The Ultimate Test of Grit
The " Iron Kid " program is Shuangyuan Elementary School’s most iconic signature curriculum. Centered on the core value of Grit, it develops students’ robust physical fitness through a comprehensive dual-track water and land training program.
The curriculum follows a carefully designed spiral progression model:
Grade 5 (Foundation): Students build fundamental skills in freestyle swimming and running.
Grade 6 (Advanced Challenges): Students progress to backstroke, breaststroke, and long-distance endurance challenges.
Interdisciplinary Learning & Practical Skills
This program emphasizes cross-disciplinary integration. Students apply mathematical formulas to calculate their athletic speed, while also mastering the PRICE injury prevention protocol alongside essential water safety and self-rescue skills.
The Peak Experience & Local Care
To graduate, students must successfully complete a 300-meter swim and a 1,500-meter run, earning the proud title of "Ironman Spirit Practitioners."
Yet, this curriculum is about more than just physical achievement. By integrating arts and maker education, students engage in charity sales and community service. They learn to transform their perseverance into compassion, growing into well-rounded Active Little Ironmen who excel both academically and physically while holding a deep sense of social responsibility.
(3) 「國際樂學家」是雙園國小培養學生「全球移動力」的核心校訂課程。該課程以螺旋式架構設計，從低年級的「歡迎與感受世界」出發，逐步進階至高年級的「體驗與遇見世界」。特色在於結合數位領航與跨文化交流，學生透過長期與以色列、日本、紐西蘭等國的國際筆友互動，近三年參與人次已突破兩千人。
課程亦融入節慶文化、全球防災及永續議題，引導學生從在地觀察走向國際參與。畢業生皆能透過英語進行自我介紹與文化分享，成為具備國際視野與關懷情懷的「在地國際共學者」，展現出跨越心智國界的鐵人精神。
(3) Globetrotter: Cultivating Global Mobility
The " Globetrotter " program is Shuangyuan Elementary School’s core curriculum for developing students’ global mobility and intercultural competence.
A Spiral Curriculum Design
Designed with a spiral progression approach, the curriculum grows alongside our students. It begins with "Welcoming and Embracing the World" in the lower grades, and gradually advances to "Enjoying, Experiencing, and Encountering the World" in the upper grades.
Digital Integration & Cross-Cultural Exchange
A distinctive feature of this program is the seamless integration of digital learning with cross-cultural exchange. Through long-term pen-pal partnerships with students from Israel, Japan, and New Zealand, our students engage in authentic communication. Over the past three years alone, participation has exceeded 2,000 student interactions.
Global Issues & The Peak Experience
The curriculum goes beyond language, incorporating international festivals, global disaster preparedness, and sustainability issues. We guide students to expand their focus from local observation to active global participation. By graduation, all students can confidently introduce themselves and share Taiwanese culture in English.
Through these transformative experiences, our students become true "Global Learners with Local Roots." They demonstrate the Ironman Spirit by crossing not only geographical borders but also cultural boundaries, growing into future citizens equipped with profound cultural empathy and an international perspective.
(4)「語文魔數師」是雙園國小針對高年級開發的校訂跨域課程 。本課程落實真實數學教育（RME）理念，以繪本故事為媒介，引發學生對數學的好奇心，並透過ARPC深度思考核心（啟動、記錄、呈現、收斂），引導學生在情境中進行數學探究與文句表達。課程設計極具創思，五年級發展「墨數魔方」，六年級進階至「奇思星圖」，致力於翻轉數學學習的困境，提升邏輯推理能力。畢業生皆能透過繪本情境建構數學邏輯，達成率達100%，成功奠基「語文力」為雙園兒童優勢能力。
(4) Logician: Constructing Logic Through Storytelling
The "Language Math Wizard" program is an innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum specially designed for upper-grade students at Shuangyuan Elementary School.
RME & The ARPC Framework
Grounded in the principles of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), this program uses picture books and storytelling as engaging mediums to spark students' curiosity about math. It utilizes the ARPC Deep Thinking Framework—Activate, Record, Present, and Conclude—to guide students in mathematical inquiry and clear verbal expression within authentic contexts.
Innovative Learning Projects
The curriculum features highly creative projects tailored to different grade levels:
Grade 5: Students engage in the "Math Magic Cube", focusing on fundamental logical reasoning.
Grade 6: Students advance to the "Wonder Star Map", designed to overcome traditional math-learning hurdles and enhance complex problem-solving skills.
The Peak Experience & Language Proficiency
As a testament to the program's success, 100% of our graduating students successfully demonstrate the ability to construct mathematical logic through picture-book scenarios. This curriculum successfully establishes profound language and literacy skills as a signature strength of every Shuangyuan learner.
(5) 「資訊探險家」是雙園國小培養學生「數位領航」能力的校訂課程，涵蓋三年級至六年級 。課程採螺旋式設計，從中低年級紮根基礎文書與簡報工具，高年級則進階至 Micro:bit 創客整合與 AI 生成式工具應用 。特色在於深耕運算思維，每學年安排程式設計單元，近三年已有逾 300 人次通過國際挑戰賽 。此外，課程高度融合資訊倫理，引導學生在影音創作與專題中實踐數位公民素養，使畢業生成為具備邏輯解決能力與創新視野的「運算思維創思者」 。
(5) Navigator : Navigating the Digital Future
The Navigator program is Shuangyuan Elementary School’s school-based curriculum designed to cultivate students’ digital leadership and computational thinking skills from Grades 3 through 6.
A Spiral Progression in Tech Literacy
The curriculum follows a spiral progression model that gradually develops students' digital capabilities:
Middle Grades: Students build a strong foundation in essential digital tools, including word processing and presentation software.
Upper Grades: Students advance to Micro:bit maker integration, coding activities, and the responsible application of AI generative tools.
Computational Thinking & International Challenges
A signature feature of this program is its deep cultivation of computational thinking. With programming units incorporated into every school year, more than 300 student participations have successfully passed international computational thinking challenges over the past three years.
