3rd Grade Art-3/24/2020

Hi Artist-types!

I'm in my Kitchen studio today to give you some art ideas for the week. I will be having a web page soon where you can find lots of ideas. For this week I challenge you to find a few tissue tubes or paper towel tubes. I'd like you to create a critter of your choice. Or if you are so inclined you can make a whole zoo! I'm sure you can find some inspiration on Pinterest! If yo don't want to do animals, you could do Minecraft or Star Wars characters. Cereal boxes make good cardboard sculptures. It's easier to cut with a scissors.

You will need:

tubes-or make one by rolling up a piece of paper.

tape or glue

crayons or markers

Have fun. Be sure to post these on Artsonia when you're finished. Looking forward to seeing them!

March 31, 2020-Tuesday Art Day

AAAARRRRRGGGG! Greetings from the Kitchen Studio of Klutzy Kate the Pirate. I'm taking a clue from my pal Cassie Stephens and sharing this week of pirate art. If you have permission she has a live video class everyday at 11 CT on her You Tube page, but I am going to post some ideas here. If you aren't into pirates feel free to use your artist mind and learn the techniques and make your own creations.

Earth Day is Tomorrow-The art of Andy Goldsworthy

Check out this awesome artist: Andy Goldsworthy. He creates art in the great outdoors using things he finds in nature. Tomorrow is earth Day so I thought it would be fun to get outside and make art with the natural things you find around your yard. Be sure to take a picture of it and post it on ARTSONIA. This is a dwelling my grandson made out of branches of a tree we cut down. He tied them together with yarn.

April 28, 2020-The Art of Wayne Thiebaud

These are paintings by one of my favorite artists,Wayne Thiebaud. He paints lots of yummy things like cakes, cupcakes, candy and ICE CREAM! Mr. Thiebaud is still alive. He is from Chicago. He is what is called a pop artist, meaning he makes art about popular things; things we see all around us. For our art this week we will be making art about our favorite treats. After drawing your picture you can paint it if you have paint, or you can color it with crayons or markers. If it is a nice day you can draw your treat art outside with sidewalk chalk or you can take your supplies outside and make art in the outdoors like the famous French Impressionist painters!

Take a picture when you are finished to put on the Artsonia web gallery. We are going to have a virtual all-school art show at the end of the year!
