Download Google Drive Files (Seniors)
Download Google Drive Files (Seniors)
As a Senior in high school, you may want to think about saving things you may need from your Google Drive after you graduate. There is a limited time after graduation where you can download from your Drive, so anything like college essays, digital artworks, portfolios, etc. that you may want to keep should be saved as soon as you can. The process may take a while depending on how much you need to download and save.
The directions below should help you take what you need from Drive before your SWL Google School Accounts are deactivated post-graduation.

GOOGLE DRIVE
Using Google Drive Directly: (Video Link)
Google Drive on the Web:
Open Google Drive in a web browser.
Click on "My Drive", which will show all your folders and files.
Click on the blank space or the title of any file or folder to select it.
Press Ctrl + A (Windows/Linux) or Command + A (Mac) to select all files and folders.
Right-click on the selected items and choose 'Download'.
Google Drive will compress the files into a ZIP format and then begin downloading. Depending on the size of your Drive, this can take a while.

GOOGLE TAKEOUT
Google Takeout: (Video Link)
If you want to download all the data associated with your Google account, including Google Drive, you can use Google Takeout.
Visit Google Takeout.
By default, all Google services are selected. Deselect all and then choose only "Drive" if you only want Google Drive data.
Click "Next" at the bottom.
Choose the file type, frequency, and destination (you'll probably want to choose "Send download link via email").
Click "Create export". Google will prepare your data, which might take some time depending on the amount of data you have. Once it's ready, you'll receive a download link in your email.
