The psychology society had the opportunity to work alongside Mina Fazel, the psychiatrist leading the Oxwell Survey, which is a large-scale annual survey designed to measure the wellbeing (health and happiness) of children and young people aged 9–18 years old.
The students were part of a real project to share young people’s voices in a meaningful way. They helped produce this short film to share some of the key findings with young people.
The theme of the day is: The Power of the Mind. This is a wide-ranging programme examining the theories and applications of psychology in the modern world. Five incredibly engaging sessions will help students realise their potential and discover the impact they can have on the world.
Previous topics have included:
The psychology of a magician
Dance and the brain
Why sex is fun, but gender rarely is
“There’s an eyeball in my soup!” Life as a forensic psychologist
Mastering memory
