Year 11 Summer GCSE Exam Timetable

Examination protocol

Please note the following for all exams, whether mock or final:

• Morning exams start at 9.00am, afternoon exams start at 13.30pm – However check your timetable for exact timings

• Pupils are reminded to look at their exam timetables on Bromcom for the dates, rooms and timings of each exam. 

• Pupils should meet for their exam 15 minutes prior to the published start time and check the below timetable where they will be advised of where to meet for their exam.

• Pupils should arrive in full school uniform to sit their exam

• Any pupil arriving late to an exam may be refused entry

Examinations for 2023-24

The finalised dates for the Summer Exams at The Turing School this year have been set for 9 May until 18 June 2024.  

In addition to the set dates three additional dates have been allocated as National ‘Contingency Exam Dates’.  This is to provide an opportunity for Examination Boards to reschedule exams in the event of unforeseen cancellations, such as a Covid outbreak or national disasters.

It is important that parents, carers and students understand that holiday plans should not be made during the exam period or over the contingency dates below:

• Thursday 6 June (1pm-5pm)

• Thursday 13 June (1pm-5pm)

• Wednesday 26 June (All day)

NEAs (non-examination assessments) will be over a period of time and Heads of Department will communicate this with students. 

Exam Clash Information:

Exam clash- Spanish and NCFE 

If you are a Spanish student who also sits VCERT you will be sitting your reading and listening in the access room (foundation) on 4/6/24 once this exam finishes you are allowed a 20 minutes invigilated rest break. You may use the exam toilets and stretch your legs but won't be allowed access to your belongings for this break. After your invigilated rest break you will sit your NCFE VCERT exam in the access room. This exam will finish at 10:35am for 90 minutes. 

Exam Clash Statistics & Business:

5/6/24 - You will sit your statistics exam in the main hall, once the exam has finished you will have an invigilated rest break in the access room. You may use the exam toilets and stretch your legs but won't be allowed access to your belongings for this break. Your Business exam will start at 15:30pm for 1 hour 45 min.
