Course Structure
This course consists of 6 different units. Two of the units are externally assessed examinations where you will have an opportunity to resit each examination once. The examination windows for these units are January and May/June of each academic year. The remaining units are internally assessed and cover a range of healthcare topics. Some of the topics include human lifespan development, enquiries into current research in health and social care, meeting individual care needs, principles of safe practice in health and social care, promoting public health and psychological perspectives.

Progression and career opportunities
Students following this course may progress into higher education into a variety of degree subjects, midwifery, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing, counselling and teaching. There may be opportunities to progress onto apprenticeships at Level 4 and above, or gain employment within the sector.
Entry RequirementsFor level 3 BTEC you will need 5 GCSE grade 4 and above (Including Maths and English)
