Oceanum Daemonum
(Ocean Demon)

“It lurks in the deep”
Greek Σφίγγα of Giza.
~ Alisa
There was a time - long, long ago, when gods and goddesses, heroes and heroines, roamed the earth freely - alongside all kinds of majestic beasts and fearful monsters that ever flew, swam or breathed fire. This is the legendary Greek Sphinx of Giza that stood atop the mountain overlooking Thebes, sent down by the gods as a plague to wreak havoc upon man and his corruption. She is a monster: part lion, eagle, serpent, and most fatal of all, a human female. Portrayed as a symbol of mystery and truth, she is a complicated, feeling creature with a gaze that pierces into the souls of men. She riddled all who dared approach her, mercilessly devouring those who failed to answer correctly, only to be defeated too soon by the hero Oedipus. Overwhelmed with despair and frustration, she cast herself off the mountainside. Severed from the fall, her face had become disfigured; she lost all her eyes, nose and mouth. Hidden and unseen from the world, she lay there to rot, her face turning pitch-black as ashes - and her reign ended, too tragically and too soon.
Serpent avec un bon cœur
~Hillary
A cursed creature who was once a beautiful girl, now living a miserable life being feared by all. Since an infant, she was blind and one day an old man had offered her to kill a harmless animal in return of her vision back. As much as she wanted to see the world, her sweetheart couldn’t bear to kill the innocent for sight.
The Elixir
~Vacya
Elixir is the embodiment of heaven and earth, created by Zeus for Lucifer. Their story shows that when cast by bad luck, a miracle shall be bestowed alongside it. Elixir is a symbol of sacrifice and consequence. This sculpture is the physical form of Elixir made of wires, plaster and aluminum foil.
The Maison Crane
~Ardel
The interpretation of war and peace in one sculpture. The sculpture is meant to express the grief and relief of those who went and suffered through wars throughout Asia, as in most countries in Asia the crane represents peace, wealth, serenity and courage.

Lost in Time and Space
~Alisa
You only wanted to go out for a short walk in the historic streets of the Cambridge City. But before you could realize it, you somehow end up finding yourself lost- lost in this vibrant city of brick and stone. Torn between that legendary era where supreme kings and queens reign, and the current time and space, can you bring yourself back?
Winter Tragedy
~Ardel
Meant to capture the scene of Boston’s snowy winter days that were only a day or two away from the passing of two young children not long after the picture was taken at that same neighbouring area, this painting has been commemorated for their sudden passing. A quick similar glance at what they may have last seen, in memory of their meaningful lives.
The Lost Road
~Hayden
A random road, with no cars, full of greens. Where could this road be?
The Cryptic Charm of Castle Candle
~BanBan
This palace of paraffin,
What is it for?
What is inside it?
Why do the cats want to see what lies inside it?
To The Stars...
~Vacya
The most iconic moment in cinematic history setted on canvas..(p.s. There was plenty of space on the door).
Based off of the movie ‘Titanic’, the ship sets sail towards the sunset turning to a sky full of stars. The streaks of colour in the sea representing the sunset’s reflection, however to make it seem more realistic as reflections in waves, they should have been smaller streaks. Due to the fact that the ocean details are big, it makes the ship seem smaller than it’s supposed to be.
Break
~Ardel
Amidst everything going on all I wanted and I think this can relate to everyone at any given moment, I simply wanted a break. I’d much rather be lost in this trance that’s brought me anywhere far from the loud and never-ending hustling chaos with nothing but an uncontrollable fast-paced lifestyle. This represents a tree hugger’s (my personal preference) break from their day-to-day lifestyle.
Empty Road
~Hillary
You can hear the wind howl as you stare off into the distance.
