Come to class prepared. For chemistry you are required to have:
Pencils
Chromebook
Science Folder with Loose Leaf Paper
Index Cards
Calculator (scientific is preferred because you can not use a graphing calculator on the Regents
Extra Help Availability
It is normal to have many questions about things that relate to the course. Please feel free to contact me anytime via email. I am often available periods 1, 3, 5, 7 or after school by appointment to meet with you in person for assistance as-needed.
In addition to the SVHS Student Handbook, please note the following expectations for this class:
No food or drink in class or lab, other than water in a sealable container.
Restrooms should be used during passing periods. A pass and sign-out must be used to leave the room for any reason.
Chromebooks and may only be used to access class learning platforms and activities, look up material relevant to this course, or input assignments into the device to use as a planner. Use requires teacher permission in advance.
NO PHONES- Phones should be put away (in a pocket or bag) as soon as you walk through the door, and will remain there until the class is dismissed. If there is an emergency situation that requires you to have/use a phone, please let me know before class begins.
Consequences:
First Offense: Phone will stay with me for the remainder of the school day, a call home will be made
All future offenses: Phone will be sent to the office and a disciplinary write up will be completed.
Students who do not follow instructions or create dangerous situations during labs will not be able to participate in the lab and will forfeit points for the lab.
