Hello Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! This year marks my 13th year teaching, and I am thrilled to be making a major move this season: transitioning from full-time chemistry teacher to additionally instructing visual arts.
To prepare for this journey, I spent the past year back in college sharpening my skills, earning my fine arts credentials, and practicing my craft at Munson. I am joyfully looking forward to working creatively with all of you this year as we explore new ways of thinking, creating, and developing both sides of our brains.

I believe that art is a powerful vehicle for producing well-rounded, innovative students. Because of my unique background, I love integrating cross-curricular concepts into the art studio. In my class, art intersects with science, history, and critical thinking. We aren't just learning to create; we are learning how to see the world from multiple perspectives.

I am proudly rooted in the Sauquoit area and dedicated to our community's youth. My diverse educational and professional background allows me to bring a unique, real-world edge to the art classroom:
Certifications: Professional certifications in Visual Arts (K–12), Chemistry (7–12), and Business & Marketing (K–12).
Education: B.S. in Chemistry (Utica College) | MBA (SUNY Institute of Technology) | Advanced Fine Arts coursework (SUNY Empire & Munson).
Industry Experience: Former nanoscience researcher at Cornell University and Chemical Engineer for Indium Corporation.

Beyond the Classroom
When I’m not in the studio or the lab, I love staying active and busy. You can usually find me running with the Utica Roadrunners, sewing, reading, building, gardening, or spending time with my family. I am also a proud Sauquoit parent myself—my two children, Lottie and Doyle, are currently in the 11th grade here!
I look forward to sharing another deeply rewarding school year together with all of you. Let’s make something amazing this year!
