As a costume designer for Sweet Charity, I gained valuable insight into the full design process. Beyond conducting research and creating sketches and renderings, I organized fittings and managed both pulled and purchased costume pieces, which strengthened my ability to balance artistic intent with practical needs. The fast-paced demands of the show taught me to adapt quickly and collaborate closely with actors, the costume shop, and stage management. I also developed a better feel for the essential paperwork, from overviews to purchase logs and costume plots.

As the costume designer for Roe, I gained a clearer sense of how layered the design process can be. Creating research presentations alongside sketches and renderings helped me shape a visual approach that supported the play’s shifting timelines. Organizing fittings taught me how to adjust designs in response to the actor's needs while keeping the overall concept consistent. I also grew more comfortable with the necessary paperwork: learning which documents kept the team organized, how to track measurements and costume pieces effectively, and how to maintain purchase and budget tables. The experience strengthened both my creative and organizational skills, deepening my understanding of how thoughtful design supports a complex story.

As an assistant costume designer for Cabaret, I was able to attain first insights into the world of costuming and the process of costume construction. During this experience, I was able to learn basic machine and hand sewing skills, picking out and arranging trim for the Two Ladies. Since Matthew Pedersen chose paintings by Max Beckmann as the inspiration for the Kit Kat Klub costumes, I was also assigned to manipulate constructed garments by catching the essence of Beckmann’s work and painting the characters’ costumes.
