The Sutter FFA chapter was started in 1935 and it was the 144th chapter in the state of Califorina. Our chapter started out with 32 members and has now grown to just over 340 members since 1935. In May of 1939, Austin Lemenager was our first Star State Farmer and in 1941-42 our first Superior Region president Lawrence Harris. Sutter FFA's first and only state officer was Jon Carrithers, Vice President from the years 1971-72.
Eva Scott [left-middle] was the first National Delegate from our chapter to represent California FFA at the National Convention in 2024.
Cade Stafford won the national proficiency in Forage Production at the National Convention in 2024.
Eva Scott [second to the very right] made it to the top 16 state officer cut, which was the last one before the slate. There were originally 34 that made it to in-person interviews at the State Leadership Conference 2025 in Sacramento.
Taylor Bogle [left] and Kenzie Garramore [right] were both the first top 4 finalists in the state for AgriBusiness [Kenzie] and AgriScience [Taylor] from Sutter FFA. Taylor had a feed trial study for several pigs, while Kenzie had a pet sitting business. They both walked the stage at the State Leadership Conference in 2025.
Eva Scott was the first member from our chapter to be an attendee at SLE along with 74 more applicants from across the state in 2025.
