Sun Prairie Music Students may choose to participate in the WSMA District festival in February. Students may enter to play a solo, duet, trios, quartet, or other mixed ensembles. Orchestra students may also choose to play in the large group event.

There is also a WSMA piano night for piano students. Participating students perform for a judge and receive comments and feedback regarding their performance. Registration takes place in December and registration information can be found here at that time.

There are many summer camp opportunities for music students in the state of Wisconsin. Sun Prairie Orchestra students have attended several of these camps in previous years. Check out the links on the summer camp list to get more information. This is a great way to meet other music students and perform new music while working with highly qualified conductors and music teachers.

Middle Level Honors Orchestra is an audition orchestra organized by the Wisconsin School Music Association. Middle School students from across the state audition for an opportunity to play in this orchestra. Audition registration is in early February and the auditions are in April. This past year two Cardinal Heights students were selected to play in the orchestra for the October erformance. More information regarding the audition requirements can be found at the WSMA website.

High School Honors Orchestra is an audition orchestra for high school student across the state of Wisconsin. Audition registration is in December and the auditions are in February. Selected students participate in the Honors Summer Camp and perform at the state music teachers conference in October More information regarding the audition requirements can be found at the WSMA website.

Fiddle Camp is part of the summer enrichment program for orchestra students who have completed grades 5-8. Register online through the District summer school registration.
