Join us for a series of summertime playdates! These are great times to let your child (and yourself!) grow familiar with the Summit campus and meet new friends for the upcoming school year. Playdates will feature snacks, a story time with accompanying craft or activity, and plenty of time to play.
Our back-to-school gathering will be especially exciting this year as we welcome Kira Donnelly as Summit's new Head of School! We will gather together and enjoy the fullness of the Summit community to play games, break bread together, and celebrate the launch of another great school year!
Rain Date, September 27
You are invited to a family friendly breakfast in the Marino Community Room to meet other families, hear from returning ones, and bring your last minute questions! Hear from Kira Donnelly, Head of School and enjoy freshly made pancakes and fruit prepared by some of our older students and alumni. Stay for time together on the playground if the weather allows and get to know other families joining Summit in the fall and some returning families who are eager to welcome you to Summit.
All Summit families (new and returning) will have a fall orientation schedule of events sent in one of the Summer Mailings. This schedule includes events that ease the child and parent into the new school year including home visits (Beginners only), Visiting Day, phase in transition schedule (for Beginners and Children's House students), Back to School night (for parents at every level), and social events such as the Fall Picnic sponsored by SMPA, the Summit Montessori Parents' Association.
Join us at the annual spring fundraiser - a family festival and auction to support Summit's activities! This year, Summit is Out of this World and takes over campus with a face painter, photo booth, space themed crafts, cosmic show for kids! Adults are welcome to join the auction while the kids enjoy the magician! Tickets available soon. It's a great way to start to get to know the community!
Lower Elementary students have completed their research into the animals, landmarks, and countries of their two continents of study this year, North and South America, and are excited to share their findings with you. Upper Elementary students have been tinkering in the lab and conducting experiments or designing inventions and are fonts of information! This is a wonderful example of how Summit helps build public speaking, research, and critical thinking skills.
