Linda Henderson

I am originally from North Berwick, near Edinburgh, and now live in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I travel home to Scotland whenever I can!  I have 3 grown children and work in Elementary School.

Like most Scottish children, my introduction to Country Dancing was at Primary School and I was also a competitive Highland Dancer.  I was lucky to grow up in a musical household and music plays a big part in my teaching.  My father plays accordion and I played piano in a SCD Band.

I have taught all levels of classes in the San Francisco Branch, and at workshops throughout the United States, Canada, and in Europe, and have been on staff at Summer and Winter Schools in St. Andrews, TAC (Canada) and Australia.  I also do a lot of ceilidh calling and can often be found leading the dances at weddings and parties!

It gives me great pleasure as a teacher to share the traditions, history and culture of Scotland through its music and dancing.

I am delighted and honoured to be teaching at New Zealand Summer School and look forward to meeting you all soon!
