All notes, video tutorials and assignments will be posted in Google Classroom. Students should already be a member of our social studies classrooms, but links are below. Please send me an email (wilsonh@sullivan.k12.il.us) if your student can not find our Google Classroom for their class period. I am happy to send them a new invite to join the class.

Social Studies Assignments by Week

Week 1

Week 1 assignments will be posted to Google Classroom on March 30th. They will be due on April 3rd.

March 30: Please read Chapter 11 Lesson 1, Washington as President, pages. 362-366. Please complete the Google Doc that is assigned in Google Classroom. This can be edited and turned in via Google Classroom.

April 1: Electoral College: Please watch the movie within Google Slides and read the Electoral College PDF. Please answer the questions that accompany the Electoral College PDF. These should be turned in via Google Classroom.

Week 2

Week 2 assignments will be posted to Google Classroom on March 30th. They will be due on April 10th.

April 6: White House Research Project: You will do research using the provided websites in Google Classroom. You can choose which presentation mode you would like to use to document your research and understanding. You will work on this today and Wednesday to complete by the end of the week.

April 8: Finish your research and begin putting information into the chosen presentation app you chose. Please proof read, give credit for information, put information into your own words, and be creative! Please turn in via Google Classroom.

Week 3

April 14: Please read Chapter 11 Lesson 2 part 1 pages 370-373 and do the provided Google Forms quiz. These pages and Google Forms can be found posted in Google Classroom.

April 16: Please read Chapter 11 Lesson 2 part 2 pages 374-376 and complete the Google Docs assignment. These pages and Google Doc can be found posted in Google Classroom. Please complete this assignment in Docs and turn in via Google Classroom.

Week 4

April 21: Make a list of ten items that you would take with you if you were chosen to accompany Lewis and Clark. Please explain your choice and how you would use this item, how it would be helpful, etc.

April 23: Take the the Lewis and Clark quiz to see how well you would be prepared to embark on their journey. Read through the slides to see the explanation of each answer after the quiz. Please complete the padlet “Would you have made a great companion and explorer with Lewis and Clark?”
