Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I don’t understand how Google Classroom works or what my student should be doing with it. Where can I get that information?

  1. We have created a Sullivan Middle School Digital Resource Center that can be accessed using the following link: https://sites.google.com/sullivan.k12.il.us/digitalsms/home or by visiting our district website, selecting “Middle School” and clicking the red “School Closure Learning Resources” button in the middle of the page. This website contains pages for each teacher with links to their materials along with a list of assignments for their classes. The website also features a tutorial page to help you navigate the online learning of your student.

Q. How does my student turn in paper assignments if we do not have internet access?

  1. Assignments should be turned in on Packet Pick-up days. We ask that assignments are submitted in an envelope with the student’s full name and grade. Assignments for multiple teachers can be submitted in the same envelope. Please make sure to only include assignments (not reading materials or other notes) and that each assignment has the student's full name along with the teacher's name.

Q. How does my student get assignments if we do not have internet access?

  1. Our teachers have been working hard to make contact with every family to determine who needs hardcopy packets of learning materials. We are taking things two weeks at a time, and have developed a plan to carry this on for the duration of the school year if it is necessary to do so. With that in mind, the schedule pick-up dates for the remainder of the school year are: 3/31, 4/14, 4/28. The last date for students to return work would be 5/15.

Q. My student has something in their locker that they need in order to complete their assignments. How can they get it?

  1. For now, only district employees are allowed to enter school buildings. If a student needs something from a locker or classroom, they need to email Mr. Ogle (oglen@sullivan.k12.il.us) to describe the item and its location. It would then be made available for pick-up during packet pick-up and drop-off times.

Q. We are having problems with my student’s iPad. Who do I contact to get it resolved.

  1. For iPad related issues, please submit a request for help at https://forms.gle/B7rZmhi15GntSiCn7

Q. What are plans for school activities like Spring Dance or spring sports?

  1. Spring Sports have all been cancelled at the state level. We do have a make-up date for the Spring Dance on June 12th. If we need to postpone again in June, we would fall back to a second make-up date of July 17th.
