Week Eight May 11- May 15, 2020

I hope all the Moms had a great Mother's day! I loved seeing all the families who came to the Teacher Appreciation parade. Thank you for coming to see us!

READING: Please do the weekly book report (on another book not this week's story please) and upload. The story for this week is Beginner's World Atlas on pages 309-331. Please read it to your child once, have them read it to you once and read it a third time. After the third reading, there will be a set of questions to be answered about the story. These questions came home with the materials picked up last. They are pink and 2 pages back to back with the name of the story on the front page. Please have your child complete the questions without the book. Then upload the questions. Students do not have to do the think and respond questions at the end of the story in the textbook. Book report is due 5/18 and the story questions are due 5/22. ***I am giving 2 weeks for this story due to the length.*** Read aloud will be posted Monday 5/11.

WRITING: Please have your student write in their journal either about coming to the Teacher Appreciation parade or what you did for Mother's Day. Also please have your student do Lesson 21 It's and Its on pgs.59-60 in packet of lessons I mailed to you. Please read the top of page 59 with them and do problems 1. and 7. with them and then have them complete the rest on their own (you may read the problems to them if you need to). In class we did not due Part 3 but I would like them to do it now. Upload due Monday May 18.

MATH: Please have your student do Ch 14 Time - Practice 4 Elapsed Time pgs. 113-119. Upload due Monday May 18. Chapter 14 Time test will be next week.

SPELLING: This week's words are 1. out 2. owl 3. now 4. loud 5. count 6. down 7. sound 8. south 9. ground 10. around. Sentences are due Friday May 15. Test will be uploaded by Tuesday May 12 and due Monday May 18.

SIGHT WORDS: Please test your student on Wk 3 sight words. 1. remain 2. dress 3. cat 4. couldn't 5. fingers 6. row 7. least 8. catch 9. climbed 10. wrote 11. shouted 12. continued 13. itself 14. else 15. plains. Please email or upload how many words they got correct and, if any wrong, which ones they got wrong. Due Monday May 11.

RELIGION: Please read Chapter 16 We Gather for the Celebration of the Eucharist pgs. 183-193 and have your student do the activities on pg. 187 and 192. Then have them complete the test on pg 194. Due Monday May 18.

SOCIAL STUDIES: Please start Ch 3 The World Around Us Lessons 1 and 2 pgs. 84-93. Answer the 6 questions in each lesson and upload by Monday May 18.

SCIENCE: Please have your student read the 2 pages on Forests and complete the quiz. Due Monday May 18. Quiz will be posted Tuesday May 12.
