This week I chose to make a banana smoothie. The challenge given to us was to create a dish based around zero waste (using everything that you have). By making a smoothie I was using as little ingredients as possible as well as using everything I had. From the banana skins to the ice I wanted to complete this challenge with flying colors.
The following picture is of dry milk powder which I added to the mixture (I used 1/4 cup of this)
After adding the dry milk powder, I added 1/2 cup of plain yogurt
Then, I gathered 4 ice cubes
After adding the ice, I added 1 cup of fat free milk
What I took from cooking this was the memory of tasting a cold smoothie. This weeks challenge was very easier than my previous desserts/dishes; however, I was reminded of sipping on a smoothie
The motivation I had by choosing this dessert was by my grandmother. Whenever I visit her in Australia she makes nice cold smoothies for the whole family. This connects to my theme because I wanted to continue making something from somewhere I have lived.
