Next Meeting: TBD
NHS meetings are MANDATORY for all members. If you can not make it, contact either an officer or advisor. Remember, you get three absences all year.
Less often, however, there will be meetings about certain service projects. These meetings are NOT mandatory and are optional for those who would like to participate. We highly encourage you to attend all these meetings! Whether or not a meeting is mandatory will be noted ahead of time.
Meetings are very important to attend as this is when we share important information for the month, as well asconnect with members on ideas, opinions, and feedback!
A slideshow will be available for all meetings, optional or mandatory. It is highly recommended that you look through these, either after a mandatory meeting you could not attend, or an optional meeting you chose not to attend. We will not look through the previous meeting's slides. Come to all meetings as informed as you can be!
ALL NHS MEETINGS WILL BE THE SECOND TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH
To be counted present at a meeting, a member must fill out the attendance sheet AND be at the meeting for 50% of the duration. A member who does not do either of these will be marked absent. If a member is expected to miss the meeting, they should email an officer 24 hours beforehand.
A member may only have 3 absences from meetings, the 3 absences are year-long and do not reset.
1st absence: an email will be sent notifying you of the absence.
2nd absence: an officer will contact you in person to discuss the reasoning for two absences and ways to prevent the third absence.
3rd Absence (final absence): you will meet with the president of NHS and an advisor of NHS to discuss the next steps, and reasonings behind the absences, and to obtain written acknowledgment from the member that they have used their last absence.
Excused Absences
a member is an officer of another club that has a meeting the same day (proof must be provided)
if a member is having a family emergency
if a member is sick or having a health emergency
Other reasons (must be cleared with advisors/officers)
An absence will NOT be excused for; attending a meeting for a different club for which you are NOT an officer; having to go to work; or simply not feeling like it.. Actions like that will not be tolerated, and will not be accepted in the National Honors Society
