I've only used a camera a few times but I've liked to take pictures of scenery and around the time of a sunset or nice lighting. I'll learn how to take pictures more professionally and uniquely.
I proposed a horror-like film in the school about spirits making you go mad. In the end I did the same but I felt like I didn’t capture the process of insanity like I wanted to. In the film I added a scene where the girl falls down the stairs bc in the clip after I had bloody lips and it fit right in and helped add a tense feeling.
In the video it follows a girl who stays after school to bust rumor about a possessed hand, it turns out the rumor was true and she proceeds to be haunted by the spirit until she dies. This story tells how if there’s a superstition or rumor of ghosts or spirits, then it’s not best to follow it.
I learnt how to edit and use effects in Premiere. I learnt how to overlay clips and use blend modes to add glitches all over the film.
I feel like one of my strengths in the film was the editing with all the glitches, noise, and color distortion. One of my weaknesses were the limited clips and it makes the story seem blotchy and confusing. I think overall what really succeeded was the overlay of glitches because our hardware wasn’t built for premier’s glitch effects.
The main challenge of this project was the effects, Since I couldn’t use the ones on Premier I had to scroll on YouTube to find overlays that worked. Once I finally got the overlays I had to convert the files to a MP4 for me to be able to import them into Premiere. I could improve this film with more time by adding more clips to have the story make sense and not all over the place.
I proposed I make a puppet that can be posed to make her move around the classroom trying to escape. I accomplished this by making her move on tables, ground, walking, climbing, and more. I had to build more skeletons to hold the puppet up than what I thought originally but it worked even better.
The story of the animation is that of a puppet that is placed into a classroom unexpectedly and figures out she can escape from the window. The story shows how she continues to move forth even with harsh obstacles to make it out.
I learnt how to make a puppet and how to make it move, I learnt to not move the puppet too much, I learnt camera work and how to light a scene as well.
My strengths was the art that it took to make the puppet and to make it move. I could easily move the puppet to where I wanted and how I wanted. My weakness was angling the camera right and making it steady especially on the ground where the tripod could not go so I had to makeshift a setup. Another weakness is it not being smooth enough to follow entirely and some parts seem too fast or confusing.
I had troubles with the movement and placing of the camera since one part had to be on the floor. I had to make a steady place with a book and tape to hold the camera up. In the future I can plan about these camera angles and make them beforehand so I wouldn’t be stuck on how to do something in the middle of shooting.
The photo of my dog was captured higher up to see his puppy dog eyes and long snout.
I took this photo on a ferris wheel and I wanted to show how high I was off the ground and the perspective of me and the background.
I took a lower photo of me to show more parts of the ride and a different angle to see the sun.
The photo is over to the left line and has a strong focal point.
