Disruptive behaviour disorders are among the easiest to identify of all coexisting conditions because they involve behaviours that are readily seen such as temper tantrums, physical aggression such as attacking other children, excessive argumentativeness, stealing, and other forms of defiance or resistance to authority.
Here are some strategies to try with your child:
At Home:
Be aware of the situation
Adjust the environment such as remove all distractions
Make expectations clear
Provide countdowns for transitions
Let the child have a choice
At School:
Have a sense of humor
Never raise your voice
Use the silent stare
Have administrators visit your classroom
Never let your class know they are getting under your skin
Treat your students with respect
