Refers to the ability to regulate their behaviour and organize themselves to reach a goal. A child that struggles with executive function has difficulty managing their time, organizing supplies, understanding personal strengths and weaknesses, classifying information, or developing and using strategies.
Here are some ways to help improve executive functioning disorder:
Post tasks on the board.
Read assignments out loud.
Have kids repeat them.
Appoint a row captain to check that everyone has written down the assignment.
Teach note-taking skills.
Use color and put different tasks on different color cards.
