realistic self portrait

Paragraph 1: What is the main idea that guided your artwork? (What are you trying to say or figure out with your work?)

For this project, I had to work on creating a portrait of myself for a project which meant I had to put in lots of details. The challenges I went through were making sure it was level and making sure it was realistic of me.

Paragraph 2: How was the work made? (What SPECIFIC materials did you use?)

pencil 2b, ruler to measure the actual picture and how the sizes matched, making the lines straight in the background. Art paper.

Paragraph 3: What processes did you go through between your idea and your finished piece? Did you research, practice, revise, experiment, etc.” It is NOT about how you physically made your artwork.

Researched size of paper to the picture of me was using. Had to make measurements because the actual photo was smaller. Had to be able to zoom to a bigger paper. I started working on corners and then worked into the middle of the drawing. I found it easier to do this. Then I shaded. I experimented with shading parts that didn't right at all. They were too dark or too light, so it just looked like black spots. Instead, I erased it. I changed it to different lights and darks with the pencil. Making the eyes even was hard. I went on.
