Pixilated Portrait
I chose to make a portrait of an actor whose movies I like. I tried to make this portrait as similar to the photo I used as a reference while still pixilating it. For this project I used a few oil pastels, a photo reference, and paper. I first started coloring the bottom of the paper and slowly worked my way up, looking at the photo for each square I colored to make sure it looked very similar to the photo. When I finished I then went back and darkened some colors and blended some others. As I worked on this project at home I noticed I was laking some materials such as red oil pastels. To solve this I instead used brown as a substitute for red. My project became clearer when I adjusted colors to match the picture. Finally my next steps for this project could be to fill in some of the squares a bit more and to blend some colors some more.
