My experience in this class has been good. At times it may have seamed shaky but with a supportive art teacher things always got better. I feel like I learned a lot in this class from famous artists and art pieces to mixing colors. I started this year with a little that I learned in middle school but quickly found that art isn't made from instruction, it is created from ideas and inspiration. It was exciting to work with paints, gels, and many many different pencils.
My work shows that it has improved as shown from the first couple projects to projects in the middle of the year. One of my first drawing in this class was a self portrait. It was laking tons of detail such as shadows and proportions. That changed when the self portrait unit came around. I learned to pay close attention to lines and colors along with paying attention to small pieces of the image. Also later into the year I learned how to draw a room or hallway realistically.
One of the most challenging parts of this class was that sometimes due dates of projects were very short. This was hard for me because I found that I take lots of time when creating art. I did however overcome this challenge and mostly turned in projects on time. I am most proud of either my realistic self portrait or my scratch board drawing. I feel that I payed close attention to detail in those projects and they show how much I have learned. I am also proud of my linear perspective drawing too because in that project I learned how to draw a hall or room with a realistic perspective. My work illustrates my strengths and weaknesses through quality. Some projects I had lots of time on and was good at the technique which resulted in good art pieces. Some project I wasn't the best at and didn't has much time which resulted in not so good art. This was because the art may have been lacking detail. Overall I learned quite a lot in this art class and am very happy for this experience.
