Content

Use of Sunlight and Sun Angles - We used sunlight and sun angles to help us figure out were our bench went. We wanted the bench to be in the sun but not facing the sun, so people could feel warmth in the sun but also not having to squint their eyes or block the sun out of their vision. Our bench is facing the STEM building.

Human Use Patterns - Some ways our bench is useful for humans is it is a bike rack up-campus and a bench. People can benefit with a bike rack up-campus because there aren't any bike racks up-campus and this can be another option for people to park their bikes. Attached to this bike rack is a bench, the bench is a good place for students to do their work or just to rest. Our bench is another bench option for people up-campus using the STEM building.

Material Choice - Our build was going to be expensive so we chose to use reclaimed wood. Reclaimed wood is a pretty cheap material but also sturdy and comfortable. We needed a cheap material for this project because we had to build a large bike rack and a bench.

Blueprinting - I did not due much blue printing because I had covid half of the project. The blue printing was probably the most important part of this entire project, it made sure anyone who looked at it knew exactly what dimensions each part of the bench was, how long it was, and the cost.

3D Printing - I also did not participate in building a 3D model due to covid but our model turned out pretty good. We made a 3D model of our bench/bike rack out of card board. It was not completely proportional but creating a 3D model is difficult.

Budgeting and Material List - We have our budgeting and material list provided in the slideshow (slide 7, 8, & 9). Budgeting and having a material list is important so the person looking at it knows your budget for each piece of your build and what material it is made of.

Reflection

I really liked this project because it felt like a real life scenario. My group also worked really well together and had a lot of good, unique ideas. My group were good collaborators and were good at communicating. Even though I had covid for some of this project, I still collaborated with my group by texting and asking what work I could do at home. I started to work on the some parts of the slideshow that were easy to complete at home while the rest of my group members collaborated together at school and kept me updated. My group was also very good at communicating with each other. We were very clear when communicating ideas with each other and also listened when others were expressing their ideas. My group was also very good at communicating with my when I was at home sick with covid.

Somethings I could work on in the future is being a conscientious learner and my character. I could work on being a conscientious learner because I need to work on managing my time effectively so I don't need to work on my assigned part of the project for homework. Part of why I had to finish this for homework was because I had covid but I still think I should have finished in class. An example of me doing this was when I had to work on the map of where our bench was and I didn't finish it at school. It was very difficult for me to make the map out of a video I took but I managed. I am going to try and stay more focused on future projects so something like this doesn't happen again. I could work on my character because I felt like I wasn't doing a great job about being a leader on this project but that also might have been because I had covid. In the future I will try and take charge more.
