My group and I worked very well together on this project. I think I did best on critically thinking and collaboration. My group and I had to figure out what was going wrong with our non-working trebuchet and find solutions and make modifications. At the very beginning of the project, our trebuchet was not working at all. The projectile would barely even go one meter. We had to make many modifications and question if what we were doing was right. At one point I didn't think it would go more than 7 meters. But we kept making modifications and figuring out what worked best for our trebuchet and eventually got our trebuchet to go a maximum of 45 meters. I also think I was very good at collaboration in this project. Our group's work ethic was very good in this project. We came up with very creative ideas and got all of our work done on time if not earlier. Because our trebuchet wasn't working at first, we had to come up with many different ideas to try and make it work.
Although my group for the most part worked well together, there is definitely a lot of room for improvement. The areas we need to improve on are our communication and character. Our communication in this project was really not the best. We disagreed a lot with each other and struggled to listen to one another. One of my group members suggested we put a string on the end of our projectile because they thought it would make it go farther. My other group member and I did not like this idea and shot it down immediately. We thought it would be too much work and didn't know if we had enough time it figure all of that out. Eventually, we gave in and we put a string on our projectile and it worked a lot better. To improve my communication and listening I can start by asking questions and listening to the idea from start to finish before I decide if it's good or not. My group and I also need to improve on our character. We don't really give each other the respect we deserve and shoot down ideas very fast. While brainstorming ideas to make our trebuchet better, we kept on not listening to some ideas that might have been really good. To improve this for the future, I'm going to start listening to my group's ideas even if I don't think they are the best.
