Our Rube Goldberg and theme
When me and my group were brainstorming our ideas for a possible theme, a casino sounded like an interesting and unique theme, so we went with that. We decided on some things to make this project stand out from the others, so we added poker chips along a ramp and a roulette table around a wheel. We wanted to make ours contain the elements of design while still keeping our theme, so I took it home and spray painted a design of cards and suites on the background.
A rube Goldberg machine is something that makes doing a simple task very complicated through a series of steps and machines to get a final outcome of something that could just be done with the slightest bit of energy. For example, I just stretched out my definition of a rube Goldberg machine, when I could have just said; "a rube Goldberg machine is something that does an easy task for you." Our (not so) simple task was winning the jackpot on a slot machine to pour out poker chips along the floor. We used 12 steps to complete this and 6 machines to do a task that someone could do by just pulling a lever to spin a slot machine and win.
