When my group mate and I decided what project we wanted to do better we knew exactly what we wanted try again. We decided that we wanted to re-do our Robotic Art show project since it didn't go very well the first time. The first time we made the robot the code got messed up and didn't work on the day of the presentation, and our robot itself wasn't really good either. So once we started the project our first order of business was to fix the problems with the code and make sure our robot works. Once we fixed that we had our first model of our robot that had a LCD screen that displayed "skibbidi toilet" and a working trumpet.
After we had completed our first model we moved on to our next task of adding another LCD screen that played the lyrics for "Glory Glory Man United", while playing the song out of a buzzer. This proved to be our most challenging task and took us all the way through the project. Since it required us to write our own 200+ lines of code specifically for the song. But after a very challenging 2 weeks we managed to pull through and complete the code and building that was needed, leaving us with our finished project that can be seen below.
Circuit: A complete loop or connected set of conductive material from one side of a power source (+) to the other (-).
series circuit: A circuit that has one single path with other different components branching off parallel circuit: A circuit that has different branches and separate flows for the charges. This is the type of circuit that we used on both of our Final products.
Current(i): the flow of charge throughout a given circuit. Amps(A).
Voltage(v): Potential energy difference from one side of a component to another side of the component. Volts(v). For our circuit we got our voltage from the computer that was plugged into the red board.
Resistance(r): The amount of current that is slowed down or resisted through a given circuit. Ohms(Ω)
Power(p): The rate at which energy is transferred and travels through a circuit. Watts(w)
Engineer design cycle: During this project the engineer design cycle was a big factor in how we went along with the project. We first asked ourselves what we wanted to add to our robot, then we researched how to add it. We then planned how we would build our circuit on Arduino. Then finally, We built the code and put it into the finished circuit, to test our finished project.
Overall I think that this was one of my most successful projects this year. I think I stepped it up a lot and really took charge of my learning. I believe that I problem solved very well and was able to persevere when met with hard challenges, which helped me to grow more as a student. I also think that this project helped me to become more creative since it forced me to think outside the box when trying to add things to our robot, which forced me to think critically as well.
Although this project went very well and brought out the best in me there were still some areas that I could have improved on. I think that my communication was definitely lacking during this project, especially since I didn't talk much with my partner about the project's needs, which is something I definitely need to work on. I also feel that my compassion was also lacking a bit, since I often got mad or flustered when things didn't go as plan.
