Our group choose to do ocean pollution. We decided to do three small factors that ocean pollution lead to or is caused by. We choose plastic in oceans overall, oil spills and what we can do to minimize them, and we did endangered animals. There wasn't a main solution but we provided ways on we as teens could do to prevent these issues. We started by organizing our project and decided what our topic was going to be. We wanted to do something with pollution and we didn't want to focus on one topic so we decided to go over multiple factors on ocean pollution.
Above is my ghant chart that I used to keep track of what I did everyday. I used it so I could focus on one topic each day.
We used the engineering design cycle to help us organize our time and stay on task. Every time we completed a step we would see what was next on the steps and go on. This helped us manage our time and organize our project.
I thought this was a very information based project. I liked that we were given the opportunity to research a topic we wanted to learn about and find our own research rather than be given a set of readings we have to find information from. My group was responsible on managing our time and getting all our tasks done. I thought we would fool around since we get along well but they actually helped me get on task more. Our project was very put together and very factual. My biggest thing I did well on was my leadership skills. One thing I would like to do for next time is to challenge myself more with more advanced information since we only covered the basics and did not really go in depth with the information as much as I would have liked to. Another thing I want to work on for next time is to be more prepared with my presentation and not depend so much on my note cards. Overall my group and I did very well on this project and our final model ended up being really well put.
