Explained Meanings
The Thermal energy is the energy that is the total of both the Kinetic energy and Potential energy in the object.
The Potential energy is the energy that an object holds by another object because of the objects position relative to other objects.
The Kinetic energy is the energy that is possessed because of its motion.
Spring Potential energy is how much the object can stretch or how much it could potentially stretch.
Total energy is the amount of energy our car has when it gets release (since energy is never created or destroyed the total energy stays the same the whole time.
The velocity is how fast the car goes.
The acceleration is how much the car accelerates
Distance is how far the car goes in an amount of time
Gravitational potential energy is a specific amount of energy a object possesses due to its position in a gravitational field.
We started by brainstorming with ideas on how to transport 250 grams 5 meters. We also had to make sure that it was environmentally safe and cost efficient. We came up with the idea to build a car with rubber band connected to a wooden axle to store energy and goes to the wheels of our car. Once we had our vision we started to build our car. Once we finished building our car we tested it. first it only went 3 meters. So we made some modifications, we decided to put CD´s as our wheels with cardboard in between. Once we made our modifications the car went 5 meters. After we got our car to go 5 meters we started out calculations. When we finished our calculations we made a slide show.

Overall this was one of my favorite projects. I really enjoyed making a car and making it work. One thing I did well in this project was that I listened to my group and ideas and was always there to do anything. I worked well with my group by dividing the group work and then sharing it out to see how we could make it better. Another thing I did well was making sure we had everything done and always making sure we were up to date and made sure everyone knew what they were doing. Some thing I would do for next time is to give more of my personal ideas and speaking up when I really don't agree with something or an idea. Overall I really enjoyed this project and I learned some great new things!
