Over the course of our first semester, we had a series of drawing we had to enhance our drawing skills. The purpose was to use our new found skills to make better more effective models for our capstone project.
Each "Drawing Tutorial" we did had a main focus on at least one of these topics.
Orthographic Drawings: represents a three-dimensional object using several two-dimensional views of the object.
Perspective: a technique to create the linear illusion of depth.
Complex 2-Point perspective: linear perspective in which parallel lines along the width and depth of an object are represented as meeting at two separate points on the horizon that are 90 degrees apart as measured from the common intersection of the lines of projection.
Rectangular planes with centers: a rounded surface which is not flat.
Curved surfaces: process of developing functional products for customers that can be then sold by businesses in competitive markets.
Product design: the visual lightness, darkness, or heaviness of a line within a drawing.
Line weight and shadow: the dark side on an object not facing the light that reveals the form and mass of the shape
Vignette Lines and product design: a unique form for a frame to an image, either illustration or photograph.
Reflection: The series of tutorials we had to do lasted almost all of the first semester. The drawings helped me become a better drawer but also gave me a new perspective that I used to better my capstone drawings. The videos helped me also destress and just have fun with drawing. Something I need to work on is to be better with time management and turn my assigments on time.
