A Rube Goldberg machine, named after American cartoonist Rube Goldberg, is a chain reaction-type machine or contraption intentionally designed to perform a simple task in an indirect and (impractically) overly complicated way. Usually, these machines consist of a series of simple unrelated devices; the action of each triggers the initiation of the next, eventually resulting in achieving a stated goal. In the United Kingdom, a similar contrivance is referred to as a "Heath Robinson contraption" after cartoons by the illustrator W. Heath Robinson.(Wikipedea : Rube Goldberg Machine)
First off, I would say this Rube Goldberg project was better than any other project I did during middle school. I enjoyed this project because of how much responsibility and privlages I was given. Build Days were by far the best part to me because of the access we have to materials. I was in charge of a lot of the wood work and making cuts. The theme of our project was Day in the Park and the Adventures that go on throughout the day. Our goal was to get our car into a new spot.
Reflection
Working with a group of not your choice can be difficult, clearly my group would agree. Although my group and I got a very good grade we did not get along to well. We had many different personality working together and clashing. The first couple weeks were hard. and we fought a lot. We weren't nice to each other, and weren't good teammate. But as any team would do, we talked it out and came throughout with our project and ended with a friendship that is like no other. These people I have learned to love working with. We learned each others strengths and worked with them and worked with our weaknesses. I have learned to be a better person because of this project. I started bossy and wanting things done my way or no way, and ended with a group of friends that are like no other and to let people help me without doing everything by myself.
