Velocity- Rate of distance covered in a direction. We used this in our machine when calculating for the final velocity of the ball rolling into the hole. The final velocity was 1.52 m/s
Acceleration- Rate of change of velocity. We used this in our machine when calculating when the baseball hits the air pump and the baseball had an acceleration of 4.15m/s squared
Force- Push or pull on an object in a gravitational field. We used this in our machine when calculating when the baseball hits the air pump and that had a force of 0.302N.
Work- Energy put into something. We used work when calculating the putt because we had an actual person hit the ball into a hole which uses work.
Potential Energy- Energy an object has due to its height or position in a gravitational field. We used this in our machine when calculating for the change in potential energy when a baseball gets released. The change in PE was 0.651J.
Kinetic Energy- Energy due to motion. We used this in our machine when calculating for the change in kinetic energy which was 0.285J.
Mechanical Advantage - How much easier a tool makes a task. We used this in our machine when calculating for how much easier the lever made it to hit a ball. It made it 23 times easier.
Simple Machines- The simple machines we used were a screw for a marble to roll down, a lever for dominoes to hit and then for the lever to hit a ball, an inclined plane for a ball to roll down, a wedge to keep a ball in place, and pulleys to pull up the wedge.
Blueprinting schematics in scale- We used graph paper and figure out that every square on the graph paper is equal to one square inch on the board. We then measured everything and put it on the paper.

1.We assembled the bottom and back piece of wood the machine. We also attached the pulleys.
2.We built a bridge and ramp for the ball to go through and hit a weight.
3.We finished the bridge and ramp and added the air pump.
4.We added the wedge and ramp for the baseball to go down.
5.We built a ramp for the air to blow a ball down.
6.We added and built the screw for our ball to go down and hit dominoes that we made.
7.We added the final ramp and added a path for the ball to go into the hole,
8.We built a lever for the dominoes to hit so that it hits another ball.
9.We focused on making everything work.
10.We adjusted things so that the machine would work and we painted.
