Evidence of Work
Me and my group originally wanted to make a hydro powered car, but as we started building we realized that a spring powered car with rubber bands would be more efficient and better. While building we had a lot of struggles but ended up making a pretty good car. We constructed out car out of wood and we used CD dics as the wheels. Our vehicle traveled 5 miles to the closest gas station and made it there perfectly.
Content
Spring potential energy- We calculated this by using the potential energy equation and we measure the spring power as shown in the graph.
Gravitational Potential Energy- We also calculated this by using the potential energy equation as shown in the graph.
Kinetic Energy- We used the Kinetic energy equation to calculate the kinetic energy over time of the car as shown in the graph.
Total Energy- We used the Total Energy equation which involved potential energy and kinetic energy which is show in the energy vs time graph.
Thermal Energy- We calculated the thermal energy to figure out how much speed was lost to friction s shown in the graph.
Distance vs. Time- We calculated this by looking at our video of our car going 5m and figured out the time at each meter.
Velocity vs. Time- We calculated this by using the change of distance over the change of time as shown in the graph.
Rotational Momentum- Our wheels were far from the center which will create more mass in between the wheels and with more mass it will rotate slower.
Reflection
I feel like I did well with cooperation because I feel like I worked well with my group and helped out well. I also feel like I did good with critical thinking because I though through the things I did and I asked question. I feel like I could do better in communication and creativity because I do things pretty basically and don't talk enough.
